NDN coordinates collaborative local conversations into a mindful national dialogue — strengthening the civic infrastructure that turns individual perspectives into a clearer picture of where we, collectively, actually stand.
On November 8, 2013, about twenty people gathered in Oakland, CA, for a World Café–style conversation on poverty and wealth in America. What came out of that room became the template for everything NDN does now.
We're a philanthropic nonprofit in Seattle building systems for large-scale dialogic venues — across precincts, districts, and states — so self-motivated people can engage on the issues that matter without waiting on elected representatives to start the conversation.
Our tools produce a unique Polarization-Consensus Rating, a visual read on where different demographics agree or diverge, so common ground is easier to find and act on.
The next chapter of NDN's vision. AI Opinionnaire listens to a live conversation, drafts grounded questions from what people actually say, and reveals the hidden consensus within a room, a community, or the country — from grassroots to global.
NDN coordinates individual and community conversations, giving everyone a sense of place — and a voice — within the larger national dialogue.

See how it worksOur first large-scale Opinionnaire® platform, prototyping the Polarization-Consensus Rating and open dialogic surveys. It proved the concept and directly shaped AI Opinionnaire, the platform we're building now.
See what came nextA WordPress plugin we built that connects to SurveyGizmo to calculate the Polarization-Consensus Rating (PC-Rating™) and generate cross-tabulation reports and Participatory Resistance charts — without storing any survey data it retrieves. Still live and maintained today.
